vereshaka
These two - Bill and Dave - are born masters of getting into trouble, but they never learned how to get out of it. They chase wealth, power and easy life, but are not used to thinking about the consequences. Youth, boldness and total lack of self-preservation are their main qualities. Steal, hit, shoot - there will be questions later, if at all. Wherever they set foot, chaos and destruction follow - saloon brawls, dirty deals, robberies. In most towns their names have long been cursed, but the brothers don't care - their luck has turned against them, but they are stubbornly going forward. They have no plan, no caution. Just brazenness, revolvers and an endless thirst for more.

vereshaka
The West does not forgive the weak. The land is harsh and people live by the law of the bullet. Whoever decides to travel must be prepared for anything - hunger, cold, the deadly stare of a revolver's muzzle. The Jacksons left their father's house early in the morning, when the sun was just beginning to color the plains. All they had was in a couple of old sacks: a few clothes, a knife, and their mother's silver brooch - faded, not even worth a nickel, but holding out hope for the best. David and William were the sons of a bankrupt farmer. The boys who learned early the taste of sweat, blood, and hopelessness. Their father had died under the hooves of strangers' horses on a night when there was no money to pay be paid. Their mother tried to hang on, but soon she turned to the bottle and the home was empty. As the two young men descended the creaking wooden porch, they left their childhood behind, bringing with them their only nag and their meager belongings. They didn't know where the road would lead them, but they believed there was more ahead than starving in a godforsaken hole. But the world does not spare dreamers. On the third night, they were ambushed. A band of riders, shadows against the setting sun. No warnings, no threats - they just drew their weapons and it was clear. The Jacksons gave up everything: food, money, even their mother's silver brooch. The robbers left as easily as they had come. The brothers remained standing in the middle of the wilderness, staring at the fading figures. Many nights had passed since the beginning of their venture. They had traveled many miles to the West, and every day the memories of home grew dimmer. The brothers made a living by whatever they could get their hands on. They worked on ranches, railroads, in saloons, and were in buffalo hunting bands. But nowhere did they stay long. The Jacksons went on their way and fate took them further and further west. Childhood dreams turned into dim reality. At this time, none of them can say what they really want from life. Like lost mongrels or leaves in the wind, they continue to sway in the streams of fate.

vereshaka
On their way, the Jackson brothers meet a girl named Dakota who lost her horse along the way. In the future, she became their new traveling companion, buying them some food and cigarettes. The weather was deteriorating rapidly, a storm caught them by surprise. They hastily built a fire in a place sheltered from the wind and rain. Later, a guy named Liam arrived to the smoke from the fire, and soon he joined the group of misfits from the big road.
