Society is a script that allows for players to function as groups; and allows us to give script-access to multiple people for the same reason, for example the society of lawstdenis (for the Saint Denis Police Department) allow us to give everyone in that society a uniform, a paycheck, access to handcuffs and the jail system. Similarly, the society of littlecreek (for Little Creek Ranch) allows us to grant everyone working at the ranch access to the communal inventory, and the ranching script to interact with animals.

Most societies come with ranks 0, 1, 2, 3 - and in most cases, they're supposed to act with the following hierarchy in mind:

  • - Employee
  • - Experienced Employee
  • - Supervisor (permissions to Manage Society Shop, and Hire/Fire)
  • - Boss/Manager (all permissions)

Some socities will have more ranks, and some will have less. It depends on what's needed for that particular faction or group! You can always open up a Fact.png to discuss your society; request more/less ranks, etc. - we're happy to have a chat about your society and work with you to ensure the best roleplay possibilities are happening.

Anyone in any society can /setblip to mark their business, group, faction, etc. as active. A green blip is how this is represented on the map.

Society Management

Your society will have a management somewhere, usually decided and deployed by a member of management. It will be signified by a local prompt looking like this -  PressGG.png - and upon opening your society management menu, the following prompt will emerge:

  • Inventory is your communal inventory. Typically 1,500 units; and up to 5,000 units, depending on the society type.
  • Changing Room is a mobile semi-tailor, allowing you select pre-made outfits on the go.
  • View Bills is null & void.
  • Ledger allows you to see how much communal cash you have available.
  • Manage Employees will open up the following prompt:

  • Hire allows you to bring people into the Society. New hires will always start at rank 0 (e.g. littlecreek 0lawstdenis 0).
  • Fire is self explanatory.
  • Set Rank allows you to manage the ranks of your employees; this is only relevant to a higher paycheck and shop management.
  • Set Salary allows you to set a custom paycheck for those in your society. It should be noted that 99% of societies are already entitled to a server-based default paycheck (see HERE), but you're welcome to Set Salary to add bonuses on top of that.
    • Salaries are paid from your society ledger. If you do not have any money in it, nobody will get paid.

Shops & Society Shops

There are two types of player-owned shops on South Tahoma Roleplay - Shops & Society Shops. Both appear as ShopBlip.png on the map.

SHOP TOKEN | Shop
A shop token can be deployed for player's who are one-man shows. They can sell items remotely through the UI, and buy items from players who sell to their ShopBlip.png marker. All profits and expenses are done through an internal ledger, but only one person can manage shops of this type.

SOCIETY SHOP TOKEN | Society Shop
Society Shops are linked directly with a society. This means that if a manager in the littlecreek society sets one of these up; all profits will go into the Little Creek ledger, all expenses will come out of it, and anyone with a management rank in littlecreek will be able to manage the shop's activity. It should be noted that this shop type also appears as a ShopBlip.png on the map.

Spoiler

Your shop menu will look like the prompt below (image left), with some slight differences between a Shop and a Society Shop.

  1. Shop Inventory will open up what the shop looks like to the public (image right), along with the quantities and prices.
  2. Upgrade Slots allows you to buy more space for your shop inventory.
  3. Management Rank sets the minimum rank required for someone to manage the shop (buy items, take/deposit money, etc.)
  4. Buy Items allows you to set a list of items you're buying from the public (e.g. If you want to allow people to sell Iron Bars to you). You can choose the quantities and prices in this menu; and the shop will automatically stop buying the item when your desired quantity is met.
  5. Move Shop allows you to pay $20 to move the physical ShopBlip.png icon.
  6. Change Name is self explanatory.
  7. Show Blip determines whether the ShopBlip.png is visible. 0 is off, and 1 is on.
  8. Webhook allows you enter a Discord Webhook, so you can track the shop's activity, which will look like the below prompt.
