What to Expect in a /report

The South Tahoma Administration team are entirely voluntary. While of course, the very nature of the role being voluntary is that we volunteer to do what we do, it doesn't mean we volunteer to deal with microaggression, passive aggression, explicit hostilities, inflammatory sentiments or blatent unwarranted impatience from the playerbase.

We are not at liberty to solve every report on a then-and-there basis, and fully reserve the right to redirect you to the forums.

If you ever decide to be blatently hostile or toxic towards our Staff, we can and will revoke your right to /report.

Equally, we don't have all the answers! 😄 - Sometimes we'll need to talk to each other, or even sometimes players who have spent more time with the small details of a specific script to get the information that we need to help you!

As such, we felt it necessary to outline exact What To Expect In A /Report, when you file one in-game.

What Not to /report

Simple /reports

Reports that are asking for teleports, revives, character deletions, etc. - that are inherently 'simply' in nature, should be answered fairly quickly. If you're not receiving a response, please utilise /admins. If there is nobody on that list, you should aim to open a igh.png ticket on Discord to see if we can get someone for you.

Unfortunately, we can't always get someone to you. This could be due to a variety of factors; whether it be timezones, lack of knowledgeable administrators online, or lack of administrators with appropriate tools to handle the nature of the request.

Complex /reports

Some reports are slightly more complex, and might require some digging. It should be noted that RedM is shaky framework at best. We're using a conglomoration of scripts across various original authorts, along with some of our own custom made scripts that are all thrown into a cauldron to give us the concoction that is South Tahoma RP.

If you've come across a particularly frustrating bug, or the handling administrator doesn't have the "know how" to get you sorted, don't panic. Simply Ticket4.png on our Discord and we'll see if we can have a non-ingame Administrator pitch in.

Using /report for Rulebreaking Players

We'd like to be excruciatingly clear when it comes to /report's of this type. The logging system of RedM, and by extention STRP (i.e. the logging of dialogue, emotes, purchases, robberies, mask usage, death, etc.) is ridiculously simplistic - as such, we do not have an elegent access to real time logging as things happen. It takes time to construct context.

Equally, the odds of us responding to a /report as a rulebreak happens in real time is unbelievably low, so typically the responding Administrator is walking into an aftermath with zero context and one half of a story.

As such, all Administrators are trained to handle /reports for Rulebreaks as follows:

If we can find an undeniable rulebreak, beyond a shadow of a doubt when responding...
we'll solve it then and there; and get any revives, refunds, etc. sorted in real time.

If we are lacking necessary context or logs, if we any doubts, or the story is contested by involved parties...
you will be redirected to Player Reports for further investigation.

The Administration are not at liberty to spend considerable amounts of hours in local /b chat, bouncing between two (typically, tense) individual's stories, trying to construct a timeline of events and aligning happenings with rulebreaks in real time. That is the entire purpose of Player Reports; to allow the staff to do their due dilligence.

I can't be bothered to file a Forum Report.
That is your prerogative. We can not force you.

How can I help the process go faster?
Utilise a service such as MedalTV or NVIDIA Shadowplay to record your roleplay in absolution & completely to post alongside your report.

Will I be revived/refunded if I say I'm going to file a Forum Report?
No. Roleplay must be concluded in-game before you Respawn to Avoid, Log to Avoid. You can not self-void a scene.

The responding Administrator is clearly being bias in my /report.
Staff Report them immediately.

I disagree with a decision that has been made.
Feel free to file a Decision Report.
