Community Code of Conduct

[ST-RP]

South Tahoma is a roleplay server that welcomes any individual from any corner of the roleplaying community to join in, as long as they abide by our rules. South Tahoma operate on a zero tolerence policy of blatent bullying, racism, sexism, xenophobic, bigotry or discrimination from an out-of-character standpoint (of course, these themes may come up in 1884 America ICly!).

All members are expected to follow the Community Code of Conduct when using South Tahoma-endorsed channels of communication, which include but are not limited to: STRP Official Discord, STRP Community Discord, STRP Staff Discord, Government of Tahoma, STRP New Austin Conflict Discord, South Tahoma Forums.

We do not moderate content outside of our official platforms, as our role is to moderate and police STRP, not the internet. However, in the case of zero tolerence policy violations; Server Management reserve the right to take action against you in the interest of server harmony.

 

LANGUAGE & CONDUCT
Users in violation of these rules will receive a warning, followed by a series of duration-increasing (24hrs, 3d, 5d, 7d, Permanent) mutes at the administrator's discretion.

• Be Respectful
  Community Members are expected to act with respect and civility to other members of the South Tahoma Community at all times. This means no mean, rude or harassing comments. Simply treat others the way in which you wish to be treated, to put it simply.
   
• No Inappropriate Language
  Use of profanity should be kept to a reasonable minimum. Any derogatory language towards any user is prohibited. Swearing is permitted in casual channels only, while the official help and code channels should be kept free of any profane language.
   
• No Threatening or Malicious Conduct
  Threatening language are prohibted on South Tahoma-endorsed platforms. This includes threatening to DOX other players, threatening to reveal private or personal information, threatening their lives, etc.
   
• No Spamming
  Do not send a lot of small messages right after each other. These disrupt chat and make it hard to scroll through the server. Please keep your messages at least 5 words long while chatting.
   
• Zero Tolerence Policies
  South Tahoma Roleplay operates a zero tolerence policy on the following instances. If users are found to be involved in these instances, they will be removed immediately and will be forced to Ban Appeal. There are no exceptions.
   
  • Death Threats (the explicit or implicit threat towards another player's life, or threats of intense violence)
  • Doxxing (the search/publishing of private or identifying information about a particular individual)
  • Hate Speech (malicious dialogue towards race, sex, sexual orientation, nationality, religion or creed)
  • Piracy/Illegal Content (the publication, sharing or encouragement of illegally acquired or pirated content)
  • Sexual Harassment (the explicit or implicit use of sexual overtones, including unwelcome and inappropriate advances)
  • Underage Usage (users under the age of 18 are not welcome on ST's servers, users under the age of 13 are not welcome on the ST Discord server as per Discord ToS)

 

CONTENT
Users in violation of rules 1 and 3 will receive warnings, followed by a series of duration-increasing (24hrs, 3d, 5d, 7d, Permanent) mutes at the administrator's discretion.
Users in violation of rules 2, 4, 5, 6 and 7 will receive extensive mutes, escalating to temporary or indefinite bans which must be later appealed.

• English Only
  As we are only able to moderate in English, kindly keep all forms of communication in English.
   
• No Pornographic/NSFW Material
  South Tahoma Roleplay does not entertain or tolerate the publication of pornographic, explicit of NSFW content across any of it's platforms under any circumstances.
   
• No Advertisements
  Advertisements for other communities or servers are strictly forbidden. Players may most player-made content relevant to the community such as screenshots, videos and other media in the respective media channel on Discord.
   
• No Offensive or Inappropriate Profile Elements
  The administration reserve the right to ask you to change your display name, profile picture, profile bio or any other customizable profile elements specific to the South Tahoma servers (a Discord feature allows you to adjust these elements specifically on STRP, not Discord-wide), if found to be particularly offensive or inappropriate.
   
• Follow the Discord Community Guidelines
  Respect the general Discord Community Guidelines. This includes server raiding, or the sharing or illegal/pirated content.
   
• No Sharing or Distribution of: Hacks, Cheats, Viruses or Malicious Software
  The distribution, encouragement, tolerance or sharing of these tools and services can be detrimental or harmful to the server and it's players, and hence are strictly prohibited
   
• No Overwhelming Use of AI Generated Content
  The use of AI (artifical intelligence) generated content is prohibited from being used in IC scenarios; or any OOC efforts that aren't superficial (e.g. the use of AI in appeals, applications & requests is forbidden). Roleplay is a canvas for captivity, and while AI can be seldom used for inspiration; it should not be a driving force or augment/crutch for roleplay.

• Information Avoid False or Misleading Information
  Make sure to fact-check any information that you share and only share reliable sources. Spreading false or misleading information can be harmful and undermines the trust and integrity of the community.
   
• Follow the Discord Channel and Forum Section Guidelines
  Please use the Discord channels and Forum sections for their intended purpose, and respect the purposes of these platforms for both integrity and organisational purposes.
