  1. "If they dare to come out in the open field and defend the gold standard as a good thing, we shall fight them to the uttermost, having behind us the producing masses of the nation and the world. Having behind us the commercial interests and the laboring interests and all the toiling masses, we shall answer their demands for a gold standard by saying to them, you shall not press down upon the brow of labor this crown of thorns. You shall not crucify mankind upon a cross of gold." - William Jennings Bryan, 1896 Democratic National Convention The Democratic Party is one of the main political parties in the United States, tracing its roots all the way back to 1828 as the oldest political party in the United States. However, by 1900 it was dominated by different factions of various political ideologies, and could be seen as a 2nd class political party due to the ties it had to the Confederate States and its difficulties with winning the White House. Since 1861, the Democrats received the popular vote in three consecutive elections, but only won the 1884 and 1892 elections with Grover Cleveland, despite that - the Democrats continued to challenge the Republican Party and dominated the Southern states, along with the House of Representatives. Pres. Cleveland was part of the Gold Democrats, or the National Democrats - a faction that supported the gold standard and was socially conservative. When the party was deciding on who would succeed him should they win the White House again, the party had already nominated William Jennings Bryan, who was the complete opposite of him, part of the progressive and more left-leaning tent. However, certain issues were agreed upon by all - such as anti-imperialism and the importance of states' rights. In Tahoma, the regional Democratic branch is home to gentlemen from all camps - the Populists, the Gold Democrats and those who are willing to compromise to further the party in its local form. While the party suffers on a national level, on a micro level it is quite the opposite as the party continues to hold a firm grip over city and state level offices. The current chairman is Reginald Braithwaite, champion of the Spanish-American War, servant of the people in his tenure as State Senator and the known businessman from Lemoyne. Our goal with this faction is to not only promote political roleplay, but to also provide a social club for like-minded characters, launching both political events and having leisure activities for like-minded individuals. It should be noted that we are going to focus on local politics and events that happen in-game, rather than national ones as we can do little to impact those. We hope to roleplay with businesses, companies and local law to introduce some fun and engaging scenarios. We're currently looking for someone with political background to help us lift things off the ground, as the faction grows we'll delve into other fields and do our recruitment through IC means (for both paper-pushing positions and street-level ones, which may have some criminal edge to them). 2. Born on August 15th, 1843, William Baldwin was a son of an owner of a small homestead in the county of Lemoyne, ST. His father, Edward Baldwin, was an officer and an instructor in West Point academy, was in turn the son of a participant of the American Revolutionary War. Coming from a proud lineage of officers that prized themselves of their Anglo-Saxon heritage, it came as no surprise that the son followed in the steps of his father and the father of his father, becoming an artillery officer in Lemoyne. When the first shots of the Civil War were fired, still 17 years old, William forged his papers to add an extra year to his age in order to enlist on the side of secessionists in the forming Lemoyne State militia. Dreams of quick victory and heroic adventure were soon crushed against the harsh and gruesome reality of the war. Flags of the 3rd Lemoyne Regiment (edit by wonderful @neit) It was the dreadful days of 1864 when his life took a sudden turn. First lieutenant of Artillery under the command of general Quincy T. Harris, promoted at an early age of 20 years old, and only due to severe lack of officers in the crumbling Confederate Army, he took command of the three remaining cannons of the 3rd Lemoyne Regiment during the Battle of Bolger’s Glade. Soldiers were dying all around, wounded cried their suffering and dying muttered prayers to God. Standing amidst the field of blood under the terrible storm from above and the hellfire of Northern artillery, the young lieutenant witnessed the last defeat of his native regiment. Before the Yankee shrapnel scratched against his face and the world went black around him. General Quincy T. Harris - William's commander and idol. Despite "allegedly" being a coward. Yankee's propaganda. Waking up in whatever constituted a hospital in those closing days of the war, he was decommissioned and sent home. Tried, found guilty and later pardoned by the President Andrew Johnson, William Baldwin had to find a new place in the Reconstruction Era South. Filled with bitter resentment for the “carpetbaggers, that stole the righteous victory” from the South, after years of civil education and service as a history teacher, he became a loyal supporter of the Lost Cause mythos, firmly believing the cause of the Civil War being the State’s Rights and Yankee aggression. In the years after the war, he married, had five children, became a widower, was a member of the Democratic Party and an ally to the doctrine of the New South. William Earl Balwin at the United Confederate Veterans' reunion, pictured carrying a flag of the 3rd Lemoyne Regiment, 1896. Spending many years away from his native Rhodes, he returned home in March of 1900. Here is the story of the Autumn of the life of William Earl Baldwin, man from the previous century…
  3. "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty." 1 Timothy 2:1-2, KJV Situated in City Hall, the Mayor's Office of Saint Denis is the leading local authority in the City, tasked with handling issues of governance, law, political strife and financial management. Also known as the "Jewel of Lemoyne", Saint Denis is the largest City in Tahoma, hosting a Catholic cathedral, the Church of the Holy Blessed Virgin; the Federal Building, which houses the offices of the Marshal Service, the meetings of the City Council and the Tribunal; the Governor's Mansion; the Lemoyne National Bank's main bank; the Fontana and Râleur theaters, and many other large and small businesses of all kinds. It is, de facto, the capital of Tahoma. It is home to a large French-speaking population, similar to the Louisianan Cadiens or Cajuns, although many come from France proper, too. It also has a sizeable Italian community in the Bowery, with other ethnic and racial groups like Irishmen, African-Americans or Chinese in the eastern side of the City. 1720-1860 After the Compagnie des Indes, a private massive company tasked by the French crown to settle the lands from Louisiana to Quebec, had fallen due to massive speculation and financial mismanagement, the crown retook control of its colonies. During that time, Saint Denis was founded, by free French colonists from all over the country, including even Bretons, Occitans, Flemish and Basques. The city, in its architecture, social mores and cultural foundations resembled the other famous Cajun cities of New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Savannah or Charleston: French colonial architecture, Catholicism, Francophone modernity. 1861-1898 During the Civil War, Lemoyne County joined the Confederacy, with much of it being destroyed under the batteries of Unionist field and naval artillery. Many a Saint Denisian died in Crawley's charge, the assault on Fort Brennand and the Battle of Scarlett Meadows, and the 3rd Lemoyne Regiment's veterans were conscripted from there. After peace was signed, Saint Denis had to be rebuilt...something that was helped by the monetary support of financier and banker JD Knight. Saint Denis was expanded, many modern amenities rebuilt, or expanded, like its train station. The Federal Building was also repaired, and now houses the United States Marshals Service, alongside the District Courts of Tahoma. 1899 The term of Mayor Hudson Benner was lackluster, but peaceful. Despite the criticism of many political groups, Saint Denis was a calm town, with issues in its police department and in economic regression, but without major problems. Unknown individuals managed to embezzle funds from the City Ledger, although the Mayor was not directly responsible. January, 1900 The end of Mayor Benner's term was met with much turmoil. At first, two independents, incumbent Mayor Benner, and candidate Fiorenzo D'Arco, were locked in a race for the mayoral office, in January. After the Debate of Harris Square, both Fiorenzo D'Arco and Hudson Benner retired from the race, the first citing family issues, the second health ones. A special election was called for the following months. February, 1900 In the month of February, four political parties competed for the mayoral seat. The Independent Party, the Socialist Labor Party, the Republican and the Democrat Party. The Independent Party of Tahoma was led by Samuel Warden, lawyer, and former staffer to the D'Arco campaign. He decided to follow a policy of alliance-building, to ensure the Socialist Labor Party's threats and political violence were dealt with legally. He managed to hold a tenuous Republican - Democrat alliance for a month, discussing with both Chairman Luther and Stephens to hopefully manage to conserve this alliance until after the election. Two attempts were made on his life: a rifleman shot him once from Hotel Chevalier, and an assassin managed to hack him almost to death in his office, something he had to take some time to recover from. The Socialist Labor Party, led by Burder Blackburn, was a populist movement that wanted to enforce the will of the people over Saint Denis. They masterminded protests, manifestations and even a strike in front of the Hicks and Larsson oil wells. Blackburn was a charismatic figure, and his assassination is still an open mystery in Saint Denis, with a lone gunman shooting Blackburn down while he was holding a speech in Guiteau Square. With the mysterious death of Chairwoman Ruth Sullivan, the party changed leadership. The Democrat Party decided to then back candidate Charles Chatsworth at the end of that same month after the news of the fall of the socialist movement, switching their support from Warden days from the election. The move almost costed Warden the election, and left him bitter towards them. The Republican Party, knowing the need for allies in a traditionally pro-Democrat area, decided to support Warden on some conditions: having Albert Hamilton as his Deputy Mayor on his electoral ticket, and his support in the following gubernatorial elections. Warden agreed to do so, and formally announced his candidacy on a joint Independent-Republican ticket. Early March, 1900 On March 9th, Warden was elected as Mayor of Saint Denis, something unexpected to both Republican and Democrat reporters who handled political news. His term was however short, lasting twelve days: in front of City Hall, Mayor Warden was arrested on multiple charges (Corruption of Public Office, Murder, Conspiracy to Murder, Conspiracy to Jailbreak). Deputy Mayor Hamilton stepped in as interim Mayor, while Samuel Warden was temporarily suspended from office by the newly-elected Governor Stephens (D), former Chairman of the Democrat Party. The new leader of the Socialist Labor Party, Percival Clay, decided to steer the party towards the Democrats, naming it the Democrat Labor Party, but ending it entirely after a few weeks. Business magnate and port official, he was involved in the "Saint Denis Port Authority" scandal, something that luckily he managed to steer himself away from. Alderman elections were held, with five Wards being selected and chosen by then-Mayor Hamilton: winners were Fiorenzo D'Arco, Thomas Larsson, Cornelius Soot, Jack Cattaneo and Percival Clay. However, the many issues that plagued the City during the Time of Troubles halted much of the legal and political process in Saint Denis. Late March-Early April, 1900 (The Time of Troubles) During Mayor Warden's stay in jail, a new police force had been recruited and trained, with Chief of Police Fisher elected to replace the now-retiring Chief Thayer. Less than a week after his arrest, an attempt was made to arrest Priest Pierre Duprée, something that caused a massive riot in front of the Federal Building, and was followed by his release coram populo. After AUSA Francis Carnell's firing, US Attorney Anthony Kellogg released Warden, something that was halted by the US Attorney General, who fired Kellogg, reinstated Carnell and had Warden rearrested on the same charges. After a new alleged charge was added on Warden's case, Fiorenzo D'Arco was arrested as a probable accomplice to Mayor Warden. However, he was released since an illness overtook AUSA Carnell and many cases were halted on Sixth Amendment violations. Warden was moved, after a second arraignment, to Sisika, pending trial. An event of great magnitude was the slaughter of the Leger family, where six were heavily wounded, although the number of dead is uncertain. The mastermind of the event had not yet been named. Many families left Saint Denis, since the danger of being there was great. People killed in front of the SDPD. A legal system halted. Uncertainty and chaos created a second economic downturn for the City. Mid April, 1900 With the release of Samuel Warden from Sisika, emergency measures were retracted, and the executive order suspended until further notice from the Courts. Warden has started tackling many of the issues that happened during his absence, including an attempt by Alderman Clay to curtail the Mayor's Office. Mayor Warden is also reassuring the remaining citizens and trying to support the local businesses still working in Saint Denis. He's moving Saint Denis from a representation-centered, Ward-focused City Council to an citizen-centered, executive-focused City Council, and the following days will be proof of that. West of Harris Square, the City Hall houses the Mayor's Office, and the office of the Mayor's Secretary. Renovated on the 15th of March, it is the place where the citizenry can meet, with prior notice to schedule an appointment, the Mayor. It also houses the City Ledger and its Treasury, carefully handled and logged by the financial staff and City Clerks. The Mayor's Office is currently hiring: 1x Secretary: competent person with experience handling documents and ensuring their timely filing, capable of organizing meetings and scheduling appointments with the Mayor; experience with typewriters required, skills in foreign languages, law and politics appreciated but not necessary. 1x City Clerk: person skilled in financial matters, record-keeping, tax collection and license review; they should have a degree from a business-centered University or in Mathematics preferentially, but any individual who already managed a small business, firm or similar is welcome to apply. 2x Personal Security: since the SDPD is occupied on patrols, and cannot always ensure the well-being of the Mayor, former lawmen, security agents, personal detectives and gunmen are sought out; honorable discharges from law enforcement agencies or military groups preferred, letters of recommendation and medals even more so. 1x Political Advisor: person skilled in political matters, capable of informing the Mayor's Office of possible incoming legal or political issues; former political experience appreciated but not necessary, while people skills, former legal or law enforcement experience are preferred. Resumes for the positions are to be sent to VA1614, or through courier to the Mayor. Appointments can be scheduled for personal interviews. Office of the Mayor of Saint Denis, April 12th, 1900
  4. "Saint Denis, the city of headless saints...let's hope I won't become one of them." -Samuel Maxwell Warden, March 25th 1900. Not even Warden knows what brought him to Saint Denis. After four years of Law at Tulane, where he specialized in constitutional and corporate law, he went back home. His father Maximilien ever silent, his friends gone, his old flame engaged with someone else. Baton Rouge was dull, uninteresting and without a future for him. His father's purse was slowly closing for him, and the options of "where should I go from here?" too. That's when he decided to make a drastic move. A necessary, but difficult one, for sure. He loved his time in New Orleans, but he didn't want to go back there just yet. So he thought and thought until he reached a decision... He'd move to Saint Denis. He'd find a job as a paralegal, and then go forward from there. He had some money set aside, and he did just that, in September, 1899. He lived in a cheap townhouse he managed to rent, and with careful studying and preparation, he passed the Tahoma Federal-State Bar, on the 3rd of March 1899, with flying colors. And then he met them: the D'Arcos. He helped Evelyn get cleared of some spurious charges, and won them over, becoming the family's attorney and their guest. He also met Fiorenzo, Evelyn's husband, a scientist with a background in Physics, and who studied abroad, in Germany. He became a close friend of both of them, although he primarily worked with Evelyn, helping her with paperwork, managing the Bastille staff and so on. While not busy doing so, handling corporate documents or preparing for a case, he went out hunting. He loved the outdoors, and especially the bayou, and he would frequently go out with his rifle and horse whenever he had the occasion. If not, he'd spend his time reading, drinking and enjoying good meals and adequate conversation in the Bastille, of which he was a frequent client. Everything started to go wrong once he agreed to candidate as Mayor for Saint Denis... (OOC: This thread will show Samuel Warden's perspective on multiple events, spanning months. Bear with me, as I do not have screens for many of them! I'll also NOT post spoilers on current events, but just Samuel's perspective on what's happening to him. P.S.: many, many flashbacks, too!) 5. "In the shadows of diplomacy, the most profound agreements are often silent, and the most impactful actions are those unseen." As the 20th century begins, Spain stands at a pivotal moment in its history. The recent signing of the Treaty of Paris in 1898 has concluded the Spanish-American War, marking an end to an era and the beginning of a period of reflection and redefinition for Spain. The relinquishment of its last overseas territories in America and Asia has not only dealt a blow to national pride but also posed significant challenges to its standing on the international stage. Against this backdrop of change and uncertainty, the Consulate General of Spain in Saint Denis gains newfound significance. Strategically located at a key nexus in the State of Tahoma, the consulate finds itself in a delicate yet vital position. It serves not only as a beacon of Spain's enduring spirit and resilience but also as a command center from which new strategies for regaining influence and prestige are woven. This faction aims to authentically replicate the workings of a consulate harboring a clandestine agenda, crafting an experience that seamlessly blends fiction with entertainment. We commit to bypassing the more mundane aspects of consular life, instead centering our narrative around vibrant social events, the promotion of culture, and both the overt and covert commercial and political interests that the Kingdom of Spain harbors towards the United States in the region. Our faction will actively engage with the high society and Spanish nationals of all classes present on the server, as well as any individual or group whose interests align with those of the consulate. Álvaro de Navarrete y Cortés, the Consul General, is looking for new personnel to help him out in such endeavours. His journey through the epochs has imbued him with a steadfast commitment to Spain's interests abroad. At an advanced juncture in his life, Álvaro's prowess in the languages of diplomacy, particularly English, does not match the fluency he desires, a testament to his era and his focused military background. Thus, the consulate opens its doors wider, seeking the vitality and dexterity of new personnel to complement Álvaro's strategic acumen and experience. 6. Background In February 1900, Percival Clay assumed leadership of the local Tahoma chapter of the Socialist Labor Party after being elected by fellow party members. Recognizing the need to adapt their strategy to remain relevant amidst changing times, Clay proposed breaking away from the SLP and founding the new Democratic Labor Party the following month. With a strong dedication to empowering ordinary people, Clay realized that the SLP's traditional methods were increasingly struggling to resonate with most Americans. To address this, he aimed to establish a new political group better equipped to navigate the complexities of the system while remaining devoted to the core goal of aiding working people. The decision to depart from the SLP and create the Democratic Labor Party did not stem from internal conflict but rather from a strategic response to the evolving nature of American politics. Clay understood that to effectively advocate for workers' rights and advance the party's ideals, it was crucial to embrace a more pragmatic approach that could garner broader support and participation. Under Clay's leadership, the Democratic Labor Party emerged as a beacon of hope for those disillusioned with the status quo, offering a fresh perspective and renewed motivation. By adopting an agenda that resonated with a broader range of Americans, the party gained momentum and influence within the political landscape, championing the cause of social fairness and economic equality. While the legacy of the SLP continued, the Democratic Labor Party marked a new era in the ongoing quest for a just and balanced society. This era was characterized by innovation, openness to change, and a steadfast commitment to finding a path forward that reflected the aspirations and values of America's working men and women. 7. The Drummond Family, headed by Mortimer S. Drummond are a family of political and journalistic elitists who have found themselves in the lower power in the City of Blackwater, with Mortimer Drummond leading the local government as Mayor - who aim to use the vehicle of Blackwater to bend the people of Tahoma to their will. The Drummond Family of Texas were a fixture of Texan high society, their name synonymous with wealth, power, and influence. At the helm of this prestigious lineage stood Mortimer Drummond, a man whose brilliance and ambition launched him to the upper echelons of society in Tahoma rather quickly, later to be described. Destined for greatness through prowess, he attended the Baylor University of Texas; studying a combination of business, economics and politics. In his early years, he went on to enlist in the United States Cavalry; under the 2nd 'Indianhead' Regiment for a four year tenure, in which he saw the depths of the Mexican-American wars, serving a deployment spanning Veracruz and Puebla. Mortimer saw things that would change him forever, and would change the very course of the bloodline. It was during these years that his marriage with one Mrs. Kayleigh Drummond became the strength of iron. While Mortimer were out overshore; Ms. K. Drummond became a beacon of the social scene in Texas, yapping into all of the correct ears and being readily available for communal activity and gossip alike. Kayleigh found herself navigating the challenges of wartime separation while seizing opportunities to carve out her own path in Texan society. In the absence of her husband, she refused to be defined solely by her role as a military spouse. Instead, she seized the moment to elevate her social standing and immerse herself in the vibrant political and journalistic scene of Texas. RETURNING FROM WAR Upon Mortimer's return from the warfront; his stance on life had hit a seismic change. Once, a man destined for greatness in the peaceful State of Texas; now a man distraught by war, by the effects of war, and by the losses of war. It was the shellshock of the Mexican-American conflict that led the Drummond Family down what would be a path of covert corruption, disorderly manipulation and malpractice in the journalistic and political world. He quickly onboarded himself with the new-found socialite advantages that were sought out by his beloved; and became well ingrained in important, influential and powerful circles. One thing led to another; and the pair found themselves a power couple in their local communities. Unfortunately, the sights of war and the lasting mentality effects on the mind became too much for the husband of the power couple as the years went on; Mortimer became corrupt with a hunger for power, fortune and infamy; leading him, and he alone - to the state of Tahoma. A DESCENT INTO CORRUPTION His "trigger" never truly identified, and the reasons for such a rapid descent of fleeting mentality perhaps never to be uncovered; the now-Mayor of the City of Blackwater seeks to drive the vehicle of West Elizabeth in whichever direction he sees fit for the personal progression of his agenda, for the personal wealth of himself and all those who server with him under the Office of the Mayor, and he is not particularly caring of who or what may dare to stand in his way in the pursuit of greatness to bring what he believes to me 'prestige' and 'nobility' to his fair clan. His family now a remnant of his years in Texas; he now dons a new persona in the State of Tahoma, and his manipulative and coersive tactics know no bounds to bend the people of Tahoma to his will. OUT OF CHARACTER The Drummond Clan / The Office of the Mayor of Blackwater aims to portray a pseudo-high society family in the unlikely possession of local governmental and political powers in the county of West Elizabeth under the jurisdiction of the Office of the Mayor of Blackwater. The family are, for all intents & purposes, criminals - however this faction aims to portray a slow-burn criminality; relying on henchmen and confidants to 'do the dirty work', while those in Office rely in white collar crime, fraudulant transcations, governmental malpractice and the eventual rising of the political hierarchy of Tahoma. We are seeking politicians and henchmen alike, and are open to new family members too. Mortimer S. 8. The Republicans of South Tahoma 'The Grand Old Party’ History: The Republican Party began in 1854, as a result of the Kansas-Nebraska Act, where anti-slave, Northern Whigs and Free Soilers joined forces to create a coalition in order to be a true abolitionist party, something that the much more prominent Whig party had refused to become. The party was popular in the north, and fought actively to halt the spread of slavery to newly established territories and states, promoting the idea of ‘free soil’. In 1860, Abraham Lincoln had won the election to become the nation’s first Republican president. The Civil War had broken out across the nation not long after. Due to Lincoln’s leadership, and the eagerness to fight the South by ardent abolitionists who sought to dismantle the institution of slavery, the industrialized north had trounced the rural south. Then came the period of Reconstruction, which was de-fanged by Andrew Johnson upon taking up the presidency after Lincoln’s assassination in 1865. Despite further efforts to rebuild the south under a Republican vision, in 1877 federal troops were pulled from the southern states, and they eventually became known as the Solid South, a firmly Democratic bloc in the country. Despite being dominant on the federal level, as well as regionally in the north, Republicans in the south were naturally fighting an uphill battle. Democrats were too entrenched in the region, and were backed by an influx of immigrants that were of Irish Catholic descent. This support got the Democrat Grover Cleveland elected for two terms, however, a resurgence in Republican prowess came with the election of William McKinley in 1896 and the ushering in of the Progressive Era. - Abraham Lincoln on the treatment of Southern Republicans, Cooper Union Speech, 1860 Platform: Republicans now support the national banks, high tariffs, upholding the gold standard, as well as expansion of railroads and other industries. Being the party of business as well as industrialists, Republicans support protecting American operated business, upholding the Monroe Doctrine, as well as propping up the American worker over the cheap labor of foreign immigrants. Republicans still regard Democrats as the party of "Rum, Romanism, and Rebellion", denouncing impropriety, the Catholic nature of many Democratic voters, as well as their dirty past of being the party of the Confederacy. Republicans also tended to be more progressive (though not all were), favoring the suffrage movement and early opposition to the Jim Crow laws that dominated the nation's south. Temperance was also gaining traction among some Republicans at the time, as copious drinking of alcohol was also attributed to being improper, and another thing attributed to Catholics at the time. In South Tahoma: In South Tahoma, the position of the Republican Party is tenuous at best. The state being part of the Solid South, any foothold gained for the party here would be an oddity among neighboring states. The Democratic machine present in the state might be able to be challenged through aggressive campaigning as well as compromise when needed. The current spearhead of the fledgling Republican Party chapter in South Tahoma seems to be Norman J. Luther, a former lawyer and industrialist from Chicago, Illinois who had recently moved to the state to more closely keep an eye on his investments. OOC Info: This faction aims to aid in the resurgence of political RP on the server. It will be used to support Republican nominees in in-game elections across the map, as well as partake in social events for the like-minded individuals within the state. 9. “LEMOYNE FRANK-FRANCOCENTRIC MOVEMENT” “Right action is better than knowledge; but in order to do what is right, we must know what is right.” - Charlemagne The Great The Movement The Lemoyne Frank-Francocentric Movement (Mouvement franc-francocentrique Lemoyne) was founded by Jean-Michel Clement Carbonneau, a Québécois intellectual aristocrat, better known as J.M.C Carbonneau with his arrival to the County of Lemoyne in 1899. With strong ties to Francomovements in Québec City, J.M.C Carbonneau has come to the State of Tahoma in order to establish a Francocentric movement for those of Frankish ancestry in the heart of the State. As the Directeur, J.M.C Carbonneau funds the movement with his ties to Canadian peers and baronets & the ownership & operation of the Saint-Denis based newspaper “La Quatrième”. La Quatrième The newspaper translated to “The Fourth" (a pun on the term "Fourth Estate", referring to the press) is a Francocentric Frankish Christian political paper based out of Lemoyne, which covers political philosophy, Esoterism, Catholic Mysticism and ideas about governmental rule, from the point-of-view of a fanatic Francophile. The Chief Editor and funder, J.M.C Carbonneau is publicly for a pro-Catholic Theocracy, believing only God can be the head of an Earthly Empire, as the devil’s corruption spreads too wide, which he often writes about in his notes. This paper not only covers esotericism and governmental themes, but also Frankish-racial theory, believing the those of Frankish Race (Present-day France, Belgium, Prussia) to be intellectually & spiritually superior. “The Fourth” often bashes the ghettos of Saint-Denis as an area "where are found Oriental gambling dens, cutthroat Slavs, Protestant ex-convict scum and dives of every kind…” Beliefs and Philosophy This movement strives for Frankish-Francosupremacy, expressing anti-Anglo & anti-Protestant beliefs, believing those of Anglo-Saxon ancestry to be brutes, bandits & corrupted by the Devil, à la Protestantism schisming away from the Holy Roman Catholic Church. The movement acknowledges the Protestant-dominated State of Tahoma’s legal rule over the County of Lemoyne on paper, however, claims that the historical stakes the State has is far more legitimate, and the State should be returned under Frankish administration, however, separate from the French Monarchy & ultimately placed into a Synarchy under One God. This movement is first-and-foremost a Catholic organization, however, encourages intellectuals to investigate hidden esoteric knowledge not only in the Catholic Bible, but other religions, specifically Eastern Religions, though are to remain free to interpret scripture in any way that does not contradict Catholic dogma. Membership For an individual to gain membership into the movement, they must be of Frankish ancestry (France, Belgium, Prussia etc etc). Those who do not know if they are Frankish in nature may provide the Movement with a list of known ancestors so that they may do an investigation into Frankish ancestry. Simply find J.M.C Carbonneau, or pen him to inquire about a membership. OOC INFO This faction is a wacky political group who's beliefs are rooted in European Esoterism. It's a kind of parody to the emergence of ideologies and movements in the 1800s. You don't actually need to know anything to be involved, we can just make stuff up as we go along for shits-and-giggles. https://discord.gg/R5MwzFHW
