  1. _________________________________________________________________ History Beginnings in St. Denis Der Rotverein (The Red Club) originally began as a group of immigrant women in the North of Saint Denis who felt that society systemically separated women from one another and discouraged the cultivation of their individual ambitions, hopes, and dreams through either physical or systemic violence. The founding members had their origins in St. Denis' former Socialist Labor Party, but the group that sprung from it was decidedly not a political organization, but a social club meant to address the needs of the women in Tahoma who were abandoned by society in some form or another. As the political landscape of Saint Denis transformed to further disenfranchise the voices leading the group and cut off certain economic opportunities for its members, the Club has begun to delve more into illegal financial streams - namely Moonshining in order to generate revenue to bankroll the projects of various Vereiners and address the general needs of members. Westward Push The political instability of St. Denis combined with a desire to have more opportunities for economic and social involvement have driven the membership toward a vote - the vote being to move to Blackwater. With a concerted effort, the Widow Messer and her bustling membership now set sail to integrated further into the frontier and have changed the name of the Rotverein to reflect it's home is in Tahoma, not quite St. Denis. Membership Der Rotverein focuses for now on collecting members from the margins of society, which means they are less likely to have any High Society types on their official membership rolls. Given their priorities, they also prioritize women as members above all. Members still tend to use the old name, Der Frauenverein (the Women's Club) interchangeably, but the ranks have more officially been opened to men deemed to be non-abusive to women and dignified in their interactions with them. The association is largely social and members are recruited from the social networks formed in the North of St. Denis' Bowery. A crucial aspect of membership is duplicity. To hold a legal, respectable, and societally accepted face publicly and to work on personal ambitions privately or in collusion with the other members. If asked about the organization by non-members, a member will usually just disregard it as a small knitting circle where gossip sometimes happens and ladies assemble to work on handicrafts. In truth, while some knitting may happen here or there, there's much more in the way of personal development for members who manage to enter the clubs graces. Mission The mission statement largely remains the same as when they began even if the methods may have become more surreptitious. To discover and cultivate the inner ambitions of its members, no matter how lowly society would place them, to create paid work for people of all social classes and origins, and to counteract the forces that would oppress members - be they amateur extortionist, overly-zealous police officer, corrupt politician, an abusive husband, or a cruel overseer of industry. _________________________________________________________________ https://discord.gg/SYN7WZDHK6
  2. This thread will chronicle Florent Beaumont's adventures in Blackwater.
  3. Berkley Blackburn is the second child from an modest American family coming from Saint Denis, New Hanover. The Blackburns arrived in South Tahoma a long time ago and they have lived there for many generations. His parents are Roscoe Blackburn, a retired police-officer of the Saint Dennis Police Department and Ashley Blackburn, a dangerous woman who was an experienced bounty hunter of the county. In the company of his best friend, Frank Meyer, Berkley grew up around the city, playing and learning the necessary skills to survive. Like a person who's coming from an industrial big city, soon learned to fight and defend himself. When Berkley had his eighteenth birthday, his father Roscoe Blackburn gave to him his old bowie knife, like a symbol of his start as an adult man. In contrast to his brother, Berkley chose the good way of life and soon left Saint Denis in search for his own story. Later, after many days of travel, Berkley arrives at Strawberry, the city where he decided to establish. In this place Berkley helps the town and the citizens against the wild wolves around the territory, earning the life of a professional hunter. This job let him make it a name in the city and earned trust from his citizens. With this reputation and good standing, Berkley tried to follow his father's way, and started to campaign to become the Sheriff of New Elizabeth County. Today, Berkley tries to make a name on Blackwater, because he has the objective to become a lawman of the county (as a Sheriff or Deputy).
