  1. To back up what @MiaMika said, several individual players have been spoken to, warned or removed from the community for using our permission to racial undertones in roleplay as an outlet for their racist self. We ask that it is done respectfully and with thought and you can often spot a clear difference between giving a distasteful topic justice in writing vs. self-insert internet racists. So, if you happen to give STRP another shot down the line and see a recurring theme of thoughtless slurs being thrown for the sake of doing it, feel free to approach staff or submit a report. Unfortunately we're not all-seeing to every roleplay scenario that goes on. If you think somebody is getting away with things they shouldn't, likely chances are that their conduct hasn't been brought to our attention. And to anyone reading this guilty of such roleplay, do better.
  2. Catch up on this instead of making the same thread every other month.
  3. Supposedly this thread was about Saint Denis, but I'm not so sure anymore. @Rat_ I'll have a nosey through the on-topic discussion and see what we can realistically pull out of it at some point later this week. I'll be locking this thread for the time being.
  4. Yep, and in OP's context of this thread and your previous claim of it being best to avoid culling, makes it a problem. I get your points, I love SD too. I love the atmosphere, I love the design, the verticality. However, as soon as it becomes more ambitious than what we've already seen in the past, you'll notice the problems created by culling outside of organised events.
  5. Yes, and the radius covers nearly all of St Denis. We don't currently use the experimental buckets for locations, it is literally just a flat radius around a player. The event I mentioned took place in one of the mansions - a Thanksgiving celebration hosted by Soucy. It drew in a significant crowd, and in an attempt to cheese the culling to roleplay with some friends, we tried to leave the area to enter back in hopeful that we'd see each other. Green is where we appeared for each other, and disappeared again upon getting closer to the city limits. You'll notice the same sort of distance approaching large populated events where if you arrive in a sizeable group, some members may disappear way beyond what you'd expect.
  6. I would very highly appreciate whichever rumour mill this came from to come forward with their grievances, because this is absolutely false. The only "interference" from staff in whatever is going on in Armadillo was bending over backwards to accommodate players on both sides of the fence with whatever script support, mapping etc. was asked for. The whole thing is well within the confines of your sandbox orchestrated by player run factions and player decisions, and nobody is playing dungeon master from the staff team.
  7. You can have 32+ people spread across all of Saint Denis rping in pockets of 3 and the culling effect will be the same as a big concentrated event in a small town of Valentine. The distance of player culling covers pretty much all of Saint Denis and is hard-coded into RedM. Tried and tested during an event where players didn't phase in until leaving the city far far away.
  8. We review useful suggestions now and again. If you haven't already gathered through recent announcements there's a lot of work elsewhere. "Editing" a script is easy on paper, but in practice where everything in RedM is held by hopes, dreams and a bit of tape its not so simple when one thing depends on 5 others and vice versa. I wouldn't expect anything so minor to be looked at anytime soon with the limited resource of time that our savvy developers have to spare.
  9. There's never any fair when initiating combat. Someone will be the loser and often times be sore about it because something didn't go their way, something wasn't done right, something didn't 'feel' fair. Red text in your chat means go, no matter the context of the text. We've had cases of red emote dropping and the aggressor eating shit shown in clips, you don't always have the upper hand simply because you're the one initiating. /CME is the result of this thread so locking it to prevent any further necroing.
  10. This is why these rules are in place. Funs over tahomies, go back to your cowboy barbies.
  11. Hi everyone, thanks for the discussion. We'll be taking this in-house to clarify/amend/add rules and to take another look at the use of medicine items.
  12. Something I've tackled with my recent gunsmith venture in Annesburg, with the character being roleplayed as a salesman over some artisan/craftsman. I put heavy emphasis on purchasing and reselling guns from big-brand American names but you're right - there's no other way but to craft them in game.
