The Cowboys of McCoy (This Post will introduce the Cowboys working at Hanging Dog Ranch) Cowboy, Noun: An individual who rides horseback and assists in the protection, herding, and care of the cattle on the Ranch for which they are employed. Meet the Characters of Hanging Dog (The McCoy Ranch) and learn their story. Not everyone is equal but those who are willing to work the herd have the respect of those who do it. By 1882, the Hanging Dog Ranch, situated in the Big Valley Region of West Elizabeth, was falling into disrepair. The previous owners had passed away, and the family couldn't afford the tax on the property, so it went to the bank. By 1883, Johnathon McCoy and his Cousin Haakon Kongshavn had arrived in the State of Tahoma and found the property for sale. Taking a Loan from the Bank and scrounging together whatever funds they could, they put forth an offer for the Ranch. By the start of 1884, the Ranch finally came under the ownership of the Cousins. The Ranch is still dealing with the impoverished nature of its neglect by its former owners. Under the New Ownership, the McCoy Ranch looks to revitalize a once-prosperous ranch and restore some semblance of glory to its old decrepit shell.
