  1. It's not, my point was to show that there's no better alternative to the PK system, especially if most of the community is afraid of losing their characters. And to show that making everyone immortal and being able to survive any kind of injuries won't really promote roleplay - it will make it one-sided and it will remove all the risks related to going somewhere alone as a civilian/lawman. Because the new life amnesia is the main point of the PK system. CK is the only viable alternative to this system as dead men tell no tales. I am completely aware of this, I even stated my opinion on this matter under Faledak's suggestion. But the fact that I don't think they're too harsh doesn't change how those players feel about them and how the RP is perceived on their end. And I'm sure they won't appreciate making the shootout aftermath even more one-sided. Again, don't get me wrong - I'm not 100% "pro CK" neither. I just believe that there's no better alternative to the PK system, and that was the main point of even bringing that up. Robbery victims and witnesses who have seen them commit a crime that might end up in capital punishment are rather two different cases. It's not like anyone robs people without a mask on. And it's also so easy to just say that "John Doe was killed" instead of "I survived a headshot". And I do care - why would someone powergame my character shooting their arm, if I was clearly aiming for their head? Again, I only brought that bit because someone had mentioned how realistic removing PKs would be.
  2. The only reasonable alternative to the PK system is just making every single death a CK. We just had a big discussion about how the current robbery penalties are too harsh for the outlaw roleplayers - do you really think that removing a system that allows them to kill witnesses of their crimes will benefit the outlaw roleplay? This change would only benefit the lawmen as suddenly everyone would just remember who shot them. Only if the other party involved decides to execute you, otherwise, that's called self PKing and results in a CK. The best example one can use in this discussion, honestly. And I think that justifying people surviving headshots and even more gruesome injuries will cause even worse cognitive dissonance and mental gymnastics.
  3. Mining is already broken as it is, there’s no need for another whitelisted job that will only make it even more unbalanced, especially when our playerbase isn’t that big.
  4. I feel like this suggestion should get some more love, especially if we consider the latest announcement. I am completely aware that buffing those guns and nerfing some other will create a new meta - but I'd rather see a meta that promotes the use of firearms that were actually popular in this period, instead of antiques such as the Navy or LeMat revolvers. Colt SAA was popular for a reason, after all. In my opinion, all guns should deal decent damage, as all firearms are potentially lethal, but that's something for the community to discuss.
  5. making this a rule would only spawn more bureaucracy and permission tickets/apps - i doubt that the corruption tiers or criteria would change (because why would they? they're good as they are), so in the end you would have the same outcome, just another workload for the admins to go through it's an ic issue, so ic measurements should be used - why do you think going anywhere alone was considered so dangerous back then? also, the sheriff can always fire such deputies, or some nice citizen will write a letter for the federal authorities, stating that the local sheriff is corrupt himself, allowing for such behavior
  6. +1, horse hunger and thirst don't bring much, besides being annoying - this is a roleplaying server, not the sims pets but i agree that we should have a system to prevent players from galloping everywhere - maybe the max stamina bar should get more limited the longer you gallop and only regen when the horse is fleed/stationary?
