Alright alright! I stand corrected about the mustangs, it's just it doesn't blend as much in the landscape than Saddlers, Walkers and Morgans do. The picture might be anachronistic but it's really good looking, like a Hollywood movie with enough suspension of disbelief which is the vibe Tahoma was going for to my understanding in previous big discord discussions. Either way, it's alright, I put my faith in the staff's decision. BUT! I still stand by the fact before the stable/framework update, leading and calming other players horses worked perfectly fine, and now, it's a buggy mess. Most of the time you're not able to interact with another player's horse at all. Sometimes mounting it fixes the problem, sometimes it doesn't. I made a bug ticket about it a month ago, and I think these kind of newly brought issues like the /lantern command should be looked at BEFORE adding new content like dog carrying anims.

You don't see NPCs traveling on the backs of mustangs because, surprise, mustangs were ABUNDANT in that day and age, but above all they were considered a shitty horse choice. Also the reason you don't see them is because R*, known for its anachronistic approach, simply did not include them as something the NPCs use. Players are able to ride whichever horse they want, within the scope of the realism of their decision. Many are unaware that a shoed and trained Saddler is able to outrun a Stang now, some aren't even aware of the breed nerfs.   You can well calm horses while you lead them or while they stand next to you. Also you can lead other players' horses just fine - in some cases you have to mount them first for the feature to become available. You can't calm them while on horseback, if their stress level is too high.

Silver-skin -  colloquial term used by hunters, butchers, and outdoorsmen to describe the thin, silvery-white connective tissue that lies just beneath the skin of animals and between muscle layers. Commonly encountered during the field dressing or butchering of game animals such as deer, elk, or boar. 

It just seems odd to me that in Tahoma which has always promoted an immersive landscape with everyone blending in to the point looking like a NPC is praised (I love that) takes decisions that will inevitably lead to degradation of this picture. There is a reason why you don't see travelers NPC ride around on the back of Mustangs and the current horse taming/breeding mechanic doesn't promote the use of "generic" breeds at all. Also I really don't get who asked for a nerf of the calming feature, was there a horse calming meta before? I'm confused. Calming horses and leading them gave characters like mine a purpose, when guests arrive on a domain, you make sure the parked horses behave, lead them to a hitch or a stable, tend them generally speaking, now with the new script this is something you cannot do anymore. And that you could do perfectly well before, taking this avenue of RP away. It would be good to have it back!

Horse freely following has seemed like a hindrance more then a plus, they just randomly walk up to gatherings and are annoying. Having them stay where put sounds much better. +1

A little addendum from Meatloaf's side of things:   The horse following feature can be removed - it was enabled ORIGINALLY with the intent of making horses only summonable through stables which is a feature that's been abandoned. They'd persist where you left them, so if you wanted to rob, you'd need to strategically hide them and not summon them from mid-air in the bushes. Is this something the community would like removed, or would they rather it stays?

To address some of this. Horse prices have been nerfed significantly some weeks ago to facilitate more roleplay and variety for breeders. A mustang is an easily-tameable horse that's available in the wild and around the time were widely present on the frontier. Everyone rides one because they've been BiS for a good while, even when nerfed. Can't fault the playerbase for oversaturating a market (I mean, you can, but there's no point because it comes down to personal choice) - Lord knows someone tried selling a trained and shod Saddler not too long ago and no one wanted it. As for Morgans - in that point in history, they ARE considered a high-value and somewhat more exclusive of a breed, and one appropriate ranch breeds them, which is the Rosemonts. There are wild spawns of it that can't be removed because they are the feature of the base game.  I am not sure why the horse follows you around - I've never had the issue and mine tend to stay in place (or wander, if their Bonding is low). Perhaps it would be wise to tell the horse to rest while you're trying to rob? It forces it into a stationary position and you can still call it to come over. To my knowledge, horses do despawn if you move too far away from them. Calming the horse was purposefully nerfed - it can now only be done below a certain threshold of a horse's stress. This is not a broken feature - it works as intended to prevent gameplay abuse.

Title of Suggestion Horse / Stable related suggestions What is your suggestion? Ever since the new horse system update, a lot of things have been broken for the horse or just don't make sense. For example, why is the Mustang the cheapest horse in the stables? And por favor don't throw the "well, they have been nerfed" excuse. That's supposed to be a rare breed, yet everyone is riding one. Meanwhile, the more common horses like the Morgan, Kentucky Saddler, and Tennessee Walker are harder to get or find (Especially the Morgan- O.T. I also read in the discord that you can't save those common breeds is because their wildspawning can't be disabled(?)) and should logically be much cheaper. You can barely find a Morgan in any stable unless you go through a breeder. Another issue is how your horse keeps following you around. The moment you step slightly out of sight, it sprints toward you and knocks over anything (or anyone) in its wake. It gets even worse when you're trying to stay hidden, like during a robbery and your horse suddenly charges in and blows your cover. These things need seriously fixing. Maybe make it that when you go too far out of range, it'll just despawn itself? Also, we used to be able to calm any horse and lead it by the reins. Now? That whole feature's basically broken, that needs fixing too. How will this suggestion benefit the South Tahoma community? It'll reduce gameplay frustrations and it also improves realism.
